We applaud the hard working bilingual and culturally competent professionals who are providing services in direct care, legal services, community outreach,domestic violence services, and immigration advocates. Cultural Competency is an essential variable in responding to the needs of Victims of Human Trafficking or in providing Community Outreach. Organizations who receive funding, should have the capacity in fulfilling expected goals of their federal or state funding contracts. The LSWO will be making recmmendations in the future.
Linguistic and Cultural Responsiveness and Certifications and Licensure in Service Delivery
Human Trafficking Initiatives and Programs have to be responsive to the cultural and linguistic strengths of the victims of human trafficking. The LSWO is available to provide your organization in consultation regarding this issue.
Cultural Competency and Ethical Practice
Cultural Competency is a key issue in the delivery of services to Victims of Human Trafficking, and their families. Also, there needs to be cultural competency interventions in regards to community outreach efforts and educating the underserved communities which are facing this problem.
