Human Trafficking 2008

AntiTrafficking Initiative

HT Initiative

This Human Trafficking and Anti-Trafficking Initiative is a collaborative effort with researchers, community agencies, domestic violence agencies, and key community allies who are concerned with increasing the responsiveness to the needs of Human Trafficking Victims. These are the many variables which need to be considered in providing quality legal and human services to trafficking victims:

Community Outreach and Education

Immigration Legal Status

Prosecution of Perpetrators

Professional Outreach and Education

Cultural Responsiveness of Service Providers

Sex and Labor Trafficking

Law Enforcement Outreach and Education

Protection and Safety of Victims

Domestic Violence

 (Under construction)

Trauma, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking

Case managers, religious, licensed clinical therapists, and community outreach workers need to increase their understanding of these 3 variables when providing services from the beginning, middle, and the end to a Human Trafficking Victim Case.

After 6 months of interviewing, and meeting with human service providers, religious, and law enforcement, it appears that the various human service providers need to learn more about how these variables intersect in direct service, community outreach, clinical practice, and law enforcement.
